CLOSEQUARTERS (BETA EDITION)
A downloadable TTRPG
What is CLOSEQUARTERS?
Premise
CLOSEQUARTES is an Indie Tabletop Role Playing Game (TTRPG) that takes heavy inspiration from Japanese Role Playing Games (JRPG).
CLOSEQUARTES strives to bring people who normally feel uncomfortable around others to come together and enjoy the experiences that others can give you!

What makes CLOSEQUARTERS Unique?
Aside from the heavy inspiration of mechanics and themes from JRPGs, CLOSEQUARTERS strives to provide an experience that doesn't constrain the imagination from the ones playing it. While most other TTRPGs constrain or limit a Player on what they can do, CLOSEQUARTERS aims to provide the tools needed to create a one of a kind experience each time you play!
"How is this Achieved?"
From Jobs to Types
In most TTRPGs, a job or class system is used in order to determine the capabilities or role of a character within the campaign. While not always the case, these jobs would more often than not limit the capabilities of a character- both mechanically and in the context of roleplay.
CLOSEQUARTERS fixes this issue by removing jobs entirely: replacing it the Type system in its stead! Types will provide players with various mechanical attributes and flavoring options based on the Types they choose for their characters! Best of all, players can mix and match different Type combinations together to create hundreds of combinations for their characters! This ensures that players will have the option to create they want to make, rather than make a character they should make!
Using Stats to Flavor
Unlike other TTRPGs that rely heavily on equipment and gear to improve a character, CLOSEQUARTERS allows players to use their Stats to improve their character. But this isn't also used for mechanical effect, but players will have the option of using their Stats to imply the equipment and appearance of their character.
Characters who have a high Strength Stat can use it to flavor their character's appearance with large muscles, or they could use it to imply how sharp or powerful their weapon is. A high Defense Stat could be used to flavor the weight of a character, or it could be used to imply the amount of armor they are wearing.
Diversity Through Techniques
Similarly to abilities or spells in other games, Techniques provide an alternative to it's abilities and spell counterpart. From special attacks to passive buffs, Techniques will provide in game options for your characters to stand out! While you can get Techniques from your chosen Types, you can also obtain the Techniques from other units in the game. This will allow players opportunities to change up their playstyle drastically as they play the game!
Players will also be able to create their own one-of-a-kind Special Technique for their characters! Because the Special Technique is created by the Player, this will guarantee that your characters will always retain a sense of individuality!
- This was only just a handful of features that allow CLOSEQUARTERS to stand out from other TTRPGs! We wanted to make a game that didn't feeling boring to play, and the features we mentioned should emphasis that! -

BETA RELEASE
Why is this a Beta Release?
This edition of CLOSEQUARTES is only the Beta Version of the game, meaning it isn't complete. The rules and mechanics are in place, but there are still so many aspects of the project that still need to be tended to:
- Extensive Playtesting and Feedback
- Artwork and Assets
- Fine Tuning and Editing
How can you help?
There are many ways you can help us in our endeavors to make this game a reality:
Playtesting and Feedback
Because of the scope of the game, playtesting is extremely hard to do with just one or a few people- we need all the hands we can get! From testing mechanics to asking for clarification or errors spotted in the book: all of it needs to get done. We want to make a game worth your while, so that will be our number one focus after this game is released!
Spreading the Word
Due to this project popping up from practically nowhere, it will be difficult to spread the word about our project. While we will do what we can, we would really appreciate it if you share this game with others. Even just mentioning it to friends who might be interested in CLOSEQUARTERS would help us in the long run!
Funding
Unfortunately, these projects aren't cheap to make. As you could probably tell, CLOSEQUARTERS looks very basic and plain in its current state. With that in mind, we hope to run a crowdfunding campaign sometime in the future in order to get the funding to make the full potential of CLOSEQUARTERS a reality.
While I don't expect it, you can also choose to donate to help get things moving along faster. This will help push out content leading up to the crowdfunding campagin!
-There are many ways you can help CLOSEQUARTERS become a reality! A little bit goes a long way, and we appreciate your interest and support in the project!-
